Shmira
Shmira
The Shmira is our Jewish ritual of watching over the body of one who has passed. In Judaism bodies are not allowed to be left alone until they are buried, and it’s the community’s responsibility to ensure that there is always a person nearby during this transition period. Shmira at CBS is usually done in two to three hour shifts throughout the night. We are always looking for more volunteers to help, and the more volunteers we have the easier the shifts. Please contact Rabbi Abram or Moshe King to be put on the Shmira list at Rabbi@Frozenchosen.org and ED@Frozenchosen.org
