Season 5: How To Read the Hebrew Bible..."Givens" that are existentially risky

If you remember your basic Geometry class, either with joy or with trepidation and extreme body-shivers, you will remember the rules regarding "givens" and how they control the process of analysis. For example, 'given that x is the case, and thus constant and cannot be changed...then what is the value of the unknown y? We are going to apply that concept to the interpretation of a number of biblical stories. It should be fun, and yet, perhaps quite challenging.
