Gemilut Chasadim

Gemilut Chasadim means acts of loving kindness and it is also the name of our community’s committee that reaches out and connects with members who are ill, injured, or need emotional support. In Judaism we believe that often food and companionship can heal most things. Gemilut Chasadim always tries to offer both. Our chairperson of this committee is Penny Goodstein. If you are in need of support or would like to join the committee she would be thrilled to hear from you at gimlut@frozenchosen.org

The mission of the Gemilut Chasidim Committee of CBS is to provide emotional and physical support for congregants undergoing stressful situations. The Gemilut Chasidim committee offers meals, shopping and encouraging cards for congregants.

These are some of the services we've been able to provide recently:

  • We provided meals for a family whose child was ill
  • We provided meals for a congregant in hospice, and family
  • We have sent sympathy cards to congregants who experienced deaths in their families, and Get Well cards to congregants experiencing illness
  • We provided magazines and activity material for a congregant in the hospital who was bored

Our role is dynamic and evolving, reflecting the diverse and changing needs of our CBS community. If you find yourself in need of assistance from the Gemilut Chasadim committee, or if you feel called to join our ranks as a volunteer, we warmly invite you to reach out. Rabbi Abram, Penny Goodstein, and Margie Bauman are always available to connect with you. We're here to help, to support, and to foster a community rooted in loving kindness.
