Youth Group
Ruach, the Congregation Beth Sholom Youth Group, is a wonderful outlet for teens to stay connected to the synagogue after their Bar/Bat Mitzvah and throughout their high school years. Ruach members are committed to social action. Over the years they have dedicated their time and efforts to various causes such as feeding the hungry, the Special Olympics, promoting literacy and the Anchorage Beautification Project. In addition, they may serve as teacher's aides in the Religious School.
Ruach meets monthly for meetings, educational programs or social events. Ruach is governed by its own board and the youth group president also serves as a non-voting member on the synagogue's Board of Trustees.
In addition, the teens in our youth group are associated with the National Federation of Temple Youth (NFTY) and BBYO. Our members attend conclaves and camps within the Northwest Region and throughout the world.
